High temperatures can materially affect instrument performance. If you have a hot process application ( 100oC and over) there are ways to protect your pressure instrument from heat which are:
- SYPHONS. Usually used on steam applications where the "loop" is filled with water and acts as a barrier, preventing live steam from entering the bourdon tube of the gauge. Also, use syphons whenever condensing hot vapours are present. We stock a range of syphons. Please look at our recommendations regarding the use of gauges on steam and high pressure gases.
- HEAT NECKS. There are various designs available (depending on the temperature in the process) ranging from a simple tube extension to a machined extension with cooling fins.
