Measuring Principle. The resistance chain with the reed contacts are built in a 316SS pipe. The reed chain is mounted on the float chamber. According to the movement of the float, the float magnet close one reed contact and produces a resistance proportional to the height of fluid in the tank. This is converted to a 4-20mAmp output by the puck IC. The resultant output signal has a resolution of around 8mm . The 4-20mA output signal from the transmitter can be given to an indicator or can be used to drive alarm contacts.
